Screw press – expeller of EПМ model series is designated for final pressing of forepressed seed cake of oil crops and is part of process line for manufacturing of vegetable oils by double pressing.
Purpose and application
Screw press – expeller of EПМ model series is designated for final pressing of forepressed seed cake of oil crops and is part of process line for manufacturing of vegetable oils by double pressing.
Seed cake of oil crops, for maintenance of process conditions of screw press before pressing, shall be broken in hammer crusher. Broken seed cake shall be wet-heat treated. Requirements for seed cake on screw press inlet: temperature: 120о С, humidity max. 3 – 3.5 %.
Screw press structure consists of stand, feeding gear, screw shaft, pressing cage, cone-type mechanism and pan for pressed oil accumulation. Preliminary treated oil-containing feedstock is fed to filler hopper, captured be auger and enters pressing cage consisting of separate pressing chambers. By means of screw shaft rotation, the feedstock moves through pressing cage chambers. In the result of free space reduction of screw shaft turns in the direction of feedstock discharge and also decrease of chamber diameters and gaps of pressing cage, an increase of pressed feedstock pressure is carried out. Pressed oil comes through gaps between molders and is accumulated in pan. Discharge of pressed feedstock (seed cake) from press is controlled by pressure cone.
